BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE:
The variety of pieces that fit into this category is too numerous to list. They can be toys, or dolls, military paraphernalia or medals; they could be stamps or baseball cards, masks or costumes. Whatever they are, their value needs to be recognized. From that point on, a decision about their care can be made.

CARE, HANDLING and STORAGE:
An expert must establish the care of the objects; specifically ones made from multiple materials. As with any pieces, temperature, humidity and light are often the cause of damage, while simple choices like the storage of pieces can profoundly affect their well being. For instance, certain metals should only be put on glass, while certain ceramics should only be stored on well-sealed wooden shelving.
